    Where can I get some basics on what needs to be deployed to a PC in order to get VSTA (Run-time and design-time) to work?

    Hi Terry,

    Deploying the IDE and Runtime

    ms-help://MS.VSCC.v90/MS.VSIPCC.v90/MS.VSTASDK.v20/dv_vstasdk/html/65ba1540-25d1-40a1-96e1-bcc8b94acff5.htm

    Essentially,

    VSTA 2.0 PreReq's

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.

  • MSXML6. You can download the installation package from Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0.

    • To install the VSTA DesignTime+RunTime

    Run Vsta20.exe

    To install the VSTA RunTime only

    Run Vstar20.exe

    With  your application install
    Include your VSTA project templates
    Add the HostConfig registry entries
    Install your Proxy to the GAC
